The latest version of the Summit Scripting Toolkit is the result of two years of development effort and will be released as a totally new product. While other vendors continue to build on their current technology, Summit Healthcare has invested heavily to develop a new platform that will further distance their product from the competition.
SST 7.0 will provide both casual end-users and experienced programmers with many new features that increase productivity while maintaining ease of use and reliability. The new product includes the Visual Workflow Builder which allows users to define logical segments of their workflow and then drill down to individual tasks. At a glance, users can easily understand the intended purpose of the script. These logical segments are 100% reusable, thus eliminating time-consuming rework by the user. Scripts are deployed as XML documents, which makes recompiling unnecessary! Another key differentiator is the use of variable controls, rather than positional controls allowing users to capture information on a screen regardless of position. No other scripting tool leverages this technology compared to SST 7.0.
While other vendors claim to have the only scripting tool with the capability to connect with the new MEDITECH 6.0 platforms, SST 7.0 has been working in these environments for months and will provide even greater reliability and performance. Connectivity is one thing, deployment of multiple functioning scripts across the hospital setting is quite another.
