The Challenge:
HealthPort’s Electronic Document Management System (HealthPort EDMS) provides access to both paper and electronic medical records. To provide easy access to this data, HealthPort EDMS launches directly from Meditech with the click of a button. HealthPort wanted to increase this ease of use by providing context management to allow the user to go directly to the information they need without entering additional data such as username, password or patient information.
The Solution:
The Summit Scripting Toolkit [Hyperlink to SH_Products_Task Automation_Summit Scripting Toolkit] allows seamless integration by acting as an invisible agent monitoring the Meditech usage. When HealthPort is launched from Meditech, Summit Healthcare passes the user and patient data from Meditech to HealthPort EDMS. Once this happens the user is then logged on and the patient they are were working on in Meditech opens up in HealthPort EDMS automatically.
