Nashville, TN, (MUSE Booth #815) – Summit Healthcare, a leader in healthcare system integration and task automation, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, MD to provide integration and automation tools to support the organization’s migration to the MEDITECH 6.0 platform. Doctors Community Hospital has contracted for the implementation of Summit Scripting Toolkit (SST) and Summit InSync. Summit Healthcare will also be showcasing all recent MEDITECH 6.0 migration successes at the 2011 International MUSE Conference.
Prior to this partnership, Doctors Community Hospital, a 186-bed acute care medical and surgical hospital, did not have any in-house scripting tool for its staff. The hospital quickly realized a need for automation technology to assist with the large amount of data migration required in order to convert their current system to the new MEDITECH 6.0 system. With its Summit Scripting Toolkit investment, Doctors Community Hospital can utilize SST to handle its data migration efforts and eliminate manual intervention processes that often accompany a system upgrade and migration.
“As Doctors Community Hospital began its strategic plan for the MEDITECH 6.0 migration, we quickly realized the great benefits we could realize leveraging more advanced integration and automation tools,” said Alan Johnson, Chief Information Officer, Doctors Community Hospital. “We chose Summit Healthcare not only because it comes highly recommended within the MEDITECH community, but also we found Summit’s technology to have exceptional ease-of-use that would be invaluable throughout this migration process in minimizing training time and cost.”
Using Summit InSync, Doctors Community Hospital will expedite its initiatives to bring new advanced clinical applications, such as CPOE, eMAR/BMV, etc., online. Summit InSync will also aid in dictionary synchronization and management, including easy creation of test environments to allow trainees to analyze and manage “live” data sets.
“Embarking on a MEDITECH 6.0 migration is a large undertaking and we are pleased to partner with Doctors Community Hospital for its data migration and dictionary management needs. As facilities invest time and resources in the new MEDITECH 6.0 system it is of the utmost importance to build a foundation for ongoing efficiency. The Summit InSync technology enables organizations to manage this laborious task now and for all future releases,” said Ted Rossi, CEO, Summit Healthcare. “I look forward to kicking off the MUSE International conference this week and meeting with facilities much like Doctors Hospital who are beginning the transition to MEDITECH 6.0.”
Doctors Community Hospital is slated for full MEDITECH 6.0 implementation by October 1, 2011.
Summit Healthcare is exhibiting at the 2011 International MUSE Conference, from June 1st to June 3rd, at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee, in booth #815.
