Braintree, Mass., July 12, 2011 — Summit Healthcare, a leader in healthcare system integration and task automation, today announced it has entered into a new agreement with Beaufort Memorial Hospital to improve physician office integration by leveraging Summit Provider Exchange.
Beaufort Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of Duke Medicine, is a full-service health care facility in Beaufort, South Carolina with 197 licensed beds and staffed by medical personnel consisting of over 150 board-certified or board-eligible physicians. Beaufort recently partnered with Summit Healthcare for its Summit Apex suite of integration and automation tools, and its integration and support services as the hospital migrated to MEDITECH 6.0. The hospital successfully went live in March 2011.
After meeting all of its goals and timing milestones around MEDITECH 6.0 migration, Beaufort was looking to more fully integrate with its community physician offices and to further streamline the patient experience. To meet these goals, Beaufort has chosen to implement Summit Provider Exchange – a scalable, secure physician office integration solution that facilitates the bi-directional communication of patient data between the hospital’s core information system and Beaufort’s five community physician practices. By leveraging Summit Provider Exchange technology, Beaufort plans to further expand and integrate with other practices within the community regardless of which EMR system they are running.
