Main Line Health Partners with Summit Healthcare to Meet Downtime System Needs

Pennsylvania IDN Selected Summit Healthcare’s Downtime Reporting System to ensure business continuity during downtime

Braintree, Mass.- Main Line Health, suburban Philadelphia’s leading healthcare resource with four of the region’s leading acute care hospitals, partnered with Summit Healthcare to address business continuity and ensure system access during a HCIS system or network downtime. Main Line Health will be implementing the Summit Healthcare Downtime Reporting System this fall.

Main Line Health realized the importance of system access and were concerned about the impact of an HCIS or network downtime. Main Line Health needed to ensure they had robust yet highly secure technology in place to maintain system access. As organizations strive for electronic medical records and more systems are brought from paper to electronic, it has become more apparent than ever that access to critical data must be made available immediately should the system go down. Summit Healthcare’s Downtime Reporting System will provide the end users at Main Line Health with access to critical reports immediately upon a system or network downtime. The reports are highly secure through an encryption method and distributed to local downtime machines throughout designated areas of the hospitals. Through username and password authentication the critical reports are available to view and/or print which enable the staff to continue operations during downtime.

“Patient safety is of utmost importance at Main Line Health and we needed to ensure that our staff had access to critical data should we experience a scheduled or unscheduled downtime of our HCIS or Network. By implementing the Summit Downtime Reporting Solution we can feel confident that operations can continue during a downtime while we work to address getting the system restored,” said Karen Thomas, CIO, Main Line Health.

“Summit Healthcare is pleased to partner with Main Line Health and bring our Downtime Reporting technology to the Siemens HCIS customer.  The Summit Healthcare technology can assist organizations with integration, automation and business continuity and we look forward to a long partnership with Main Line Health to address these very important needs, ” said Ted Rossi, CEO, Summit Healthcare.
