Summit Scripting Toolkit Testimonials

Summit Healthcare’s customer oriented approach is fully evident throughout their company. This is demonstrated by the development team in the latest version of their scripting tool, SST 7.0. The concept of global segments and the smooth data source interfaces give it a look and feel of a true Object Oriented Programming module. They listened to customer suggestions and applied their findings into a new, sleek application that makes scripting easy and actually a little bit fun again.

Summit Healthcare has been extremely supportive and instrumental in our migration to Meditech 6.0. The Summit Scripting Toolkit and the professional services division have proven themselves to be invaluable in handling the intricacies of Meditech 6.0. As a company they have been excellent, and we value the relationship and expertise of their entire team.

We have several hundred reports both financial and clinical spooling out each day. Some of our reports are sent to a web based product while others are printed to network printers. We use CS Print Manager and Print Manager Plus for most of this reporting but do use the scripting tool when the variable/s within the report are not constant. The Summit Script Recorder is a great feature of the Scripting Toolkit as well as the script tags. They can be used together to generate code for non-programmers like myself. One of my co-workers does most of our scripting. He is not a programmer either. Like all Summit Healthcare Products, the training on this product is very good and the support is exceptional. By the end of the training for each product, we have been able to use all of the Summit Healthcare products that we've purchased.

In addition, we have the Summit Integration Engine. We originally had Boston Workstation installed at our facility for scripting and it was just too complex for those of us who are not programmers. CS Print Manager and Summit Scripting Toolkit are designed with an easy-to-use front end that allows any trained user to be successful with scripting and scheduling reports.

I have found Summit Scripting Toolkit to be superior for Windows related projects as compared to any other scripting tool on the market. The Summit Scripting Toolkit really has the whole Windows environment down to a science.

Just another FYI on Summit Healthcare. I successfully built a script to enter Materials Management preference cards to an OR Windows based application.

Summit Healthcare’s Scripting Toolkit has provided a seamless solution that has helped us at a number of our client sites to transfer this data to multiple backend systems. All of our clients utilizing Summit Healthcare have been extremely satisfied with their technical expertise and ability to deliver on their promises on time.

Summit Scripting Toolkit (SST) has proven to be a great tool for us and is a huge time saver. We replaced our existing scripts with SST and we continue to find new uses every day. One of the best features of SST is its GUI capabilities that will script in and out of any Windows application.

I've used four different scripting tools and would highly recommend Summit's Scripting Toolkit. It's much faster than any of the others we've used and I can always rely on the accuracy of reading data from the screen and checking screen coordinates. I've found the screen scraping and row/col coordinates to be 100% accurate and consistent in their use. Because of this, I've finally been able to write some scripts that were impossible with the other tools I tried. For Client/Server systems, it can't be beat in my opinion.

In addition, I love the freedom of being able to write the script in their language (Script Tags) but can also use the Summit tool in Visual Basic where I can put the flexibility and power of VB to good use when the Script Tags language does not quite do everything I need it to do.

Summit Healthcare has tools that are used for scripting. I currently use their scripting toolkit to update dictionaries. My latest project has been to update information in the pharmacy dictionary. The scripting tool is very versatile; I use it for projects beyond Meditech. It has functionality in it to provide Windows Scripting also. You can build scripts using their Script Tags, which are very simple/straight forward, or you can build them using Visual Basic. They also have a tool called Summit InSync, which provides dictionary analysis and synchronization. It gives you real-time access to your Meditech dictionaries, and a nice GUI that allows you to easily compare LIVE to TEST data. You just go through the e-Wizard, choose which data you would like to extract from Meditech, analyze and mark your changes and then it scripts the changes back into the target dictionary. You do NOT have to write any NPR’s to download the data first, and then compare them. Summit InSync is a very nice tool and I highly recommend Summit Healthcare’s integration products.

We are extremely pleased with our purchase of the Summit Scripting Toolkit. For approximately the same price we would have paid MEDITECH for a dedicated, single process, Glucometer interface, we were able to purchase the Summit Scripting Toolkit which, in our opinion, provided a robust, more scalable and open solution for our glucometer project. Plus, at the end of the day, we had a product for use within our corporation with virtually endless possibilities. We have already developed numerous smaller scale interfaces and scripts, and we are now embarking on another major project which will see automatic laboratory orders being placed at patient registration based on answers to certain queries. No such functionality exists within the standard MEDITECH software, but with the Summit Scripting Toolkit...it's a piece of cake!

We cannot say enough about Summit Scripting Toolkit and the script development work provided by Summit Healthcare. The product and service that Summit Healthcare provided was exceptional!

Summit's Scripting Toolkit, along with the skills of Summit Healthcare’s programmers, has enabled us to use a Laboratory interface to provide Pathology reports for an important customer, Bay Area Medical Center. The interface has eliminated the time-consuming and error-prone task of manually entering results. The folks at Bay Area say that the scripting process has provided critical efficiencies for them. We've solved a very difficult problem by being able to use the Scripting Toolkit and we've proven that Pathology can be interfaced, given the right tools and creative solutions.

We extend a special thank-you to Summit Healthcare’s Nathia Karasch for her hard work in implementing this for us!

We've been using the Summit Healthcare products for scripting and report automation for over a year now and we've had excellent results. The support provided is very quick (either on the spot or within the same day) and so far they have always had an answer or solution to any questions I've had. When we were initially researching scripting/automation products we did look at Boston Workstation, but found the pricing for the Summit Healthcare products to be more within our budget.

We've used the Summit products extensively for special projects such as setting up a single Meditech facility based on 2 separate ones, and for supporting our move to a brand new hospital. On a regular basis, we run many different scripts/reports to automate processes for various departments such as Pharmacy and Dietary. We also use scripting to download PCS (NUR) documentation on a regular basis in case of unscheduled downtime.

Recently, I have also branched out and used the Summit products for setting up users in a non-Meditech application and it worked like a charm on my first try! (2000+ users setup in a couple of hours).

We use SST (Summit Scripting Toolkit) and I can’t image it getting any better than this. SST is very functional, easy to use and the support we receive from Summit Healthcare is EXCEPTIONAL in every sense of the word. It is also very reasonably priced.

Jason Youngbar, Senior Systems Analyst

SST (Summit Healthcare’s Scripting Toolkit) has a fairly quick learning curve and is much easier to use. I never tried parallel scripts to check the speed difference, but SST is pretty quick. SST is much less expensive than BWS. When I chose SST here I was looking for a tool that a non-programmer could come in behind me (were I ever to leave) and pick up on fairly quickly. BWS is definitely not that. SST is definitely the best bang for the buck of the two and SST fit the need for a scripting product with a very low learning curve and excellent functionality/capability.

We have been utilizing the Summit Scripting Toolkit for almost a year now. The Summit Scripting Toolkit is very competitive when it comes to cost and reliability. We are currently using the Summit Scripting with STAR and are quite pleased. We have developed applications that post notes from an outside vendor, post patient payments from our Bank Lockbox for cashiers, populate user defined fields for patient accounts for Medical Records and eliminate daily operator tasks of manually Demand Printing Daily Batches. We have found this to be a very easy tool to learn and deploy. We feel that we've just started looking at ways to utilize this tool in order to improve productivity.

Beverly Vincent, Systems Analyst

With Summit Healthcare’s Scripting Toolkit, we have the ability now when large drafts are received to have them scripted and balanced within a half day. For example we had 6 large Blue Cross/Blue Shield remittances in our last mail run at 1pm. We had them all posted and balanced by 4PM for our month end close. This would have been impossible before with our existing staff!

Another advantage of our remittance posting has been the ability to customize with companion reports for reconciling and extracting data from the raw file. This is so valuable! Our crosswalk developed for tracking rejections data in MEDITECH has been extremely useful and would have been near impossible if done by hand with existing staffing.

We evaluated other scripting tools including Boston Workstation. We realized that with Summit Healthcare’s SST we could recognize characters on the screens not captured by others, right out of the box! SST sets the standard in scripting with unmatched power, flexibility and ease of use.
