Alex Moir

Senior Implementation Engineer

Why did you join Summit Healthcare?
I joined Summit Healthcare because the Healthcare Industry is the forefront of a lot of new technology and I was looking for something much more challenging than my previous jobs.  I was looking for an opportunity to prove myself in a job more related to what I went to school for, Information Systems, and Summit was willing to give me that chance.

Tell us about your career and what you were doing before Summit Healthcare.
Before Summit, I was working as a Broadband Provisioning Representative, basically I was just on the phone all day making sure the internet got installed at my locations. That was really my first job after graduating but I did not see a future in it and it was not very challenging.

Are you currently working on anything exciting that you can share?
At this time I am working on implementing our latest Summit Exchange platform for a number of our Outsourcing clients, It is a very exciting time for Summit and I am enjoying the opportunity to try and push the latest capabilities of this new platform.

How would you describe the engineering team at Summit Healthcare?
Top notch, we have a great group of people that never stop learning and will always think outside of the box to accomplish anything our customers need, If there is a business need for a new solution engineering does not hesitate to develop something from scratch if that is what is called for.

What do you like to do in your free time?
My new hobby is Android App development, and that is where a lot of my free time goes now, if you have an Android device look me up on the Play store under AlexMoir and download ASCIIPoker.

What is your favorite thing about working at Summit Healthcare?
Working with great people and being exposed to the new and powerful technology.

What is a typical day like for you at Summit Healthcare?
I’m not sure there is ever a typical day, but most days I do my best to split my time between maintaining our customers existing systems and implementing new systems.

What problems do you consistently solve for your clients?
I believe the thing that we do best and most often is help our customers integrate with new systems quickly, I interpret other vendors specifications and using the Apex Mapper modify their existing feeds to work with hundreds of different vendors.
