Tell us about your career and what you were doing before Summit Healthcare.
Before joining the Summit team, I worked at a document management software company in New Hampshire. Their office was actually the first position I ever interviewed for after receiving my Associates degree in Information Technology.
I went on to work full time there while taking night classes towards my Bachelors degree, which I was awarded 3 years later. Over the course of 8 years I rose from a level 1 Support position, to a managerial role in the Service department.
After that time, I started looking forward towards the next step in my career path. Summit Healthcare immediately stuck out as that ideal next step. Since 2017, I have been involved in Support, Training, Installations, and Script Building here.
Why did you join Summit Healthcare?
I joined Summit Healthcare, because I was looking for a company that could challenge me to always continue moving forward in my career field. I felt that I had maxed out this path at my previous employer, who was only a reseller of the software that I supported every day. At Summit Healthcare, I could see enormous opportunity for growth. A vision which is proven true every day that I am here.
What is your favorite thing about working at Summit Healthcare?
The reasons that I enjoy working at Summit Healthcare, are much the same as those which drew me to the company initially. But among those reasons, the amazingly talented and passionate co-workers that I get to work with on a day to day basis is certainly my favorite part about working here.
What problems do you consistently solve for your clients?
The most common challenge that I face is making sure that our solutions work best for everyone that uses them on a day to day basis. Every site has different needs, different environments, different expectations. It keeps me on my feet at all times. But I enjoy the challenge, and even more the reward of knowing we got it just right in the end.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I have played bass guitar in three local bands over the past 15 years, and continue to enjoy playing the instrument during my free time. But more than anything, I enjoy how once a year my wife and I make it a plan to visit various vacation destinations around the United States and southern islands.
This year we were able to take a cruise through the Bahamas. Last year we stayed at a Disney World resort in Florida. In past years we have also spent time in Key West, as well as Myrtle Beach in the Carolinas. It was in 2013 that my wife and I actually got engaged at Disneyland in California.
